Mid-Week True Blood Ramblings

For those of you who thought I was possibly dead as a result of Acadia’s cursing me back for making him barf on Podcaturday, I’m not here to talk about me today. Instead, let’s talk about True Blood…
Since it’s Thursday, I’m going to assume you watched the last episode, and if you didn’t, I advise you to stop reading now. If you don’t, I can’t be responsible for spoiling the things you didn’t see.
So… I’m having some thoughts about Franklin. Tara in the shower having a connected moment to him… does this mean he’s not dead? My friend Headshot Heather and I were talking about it the other night and both of us were like HMMMMM. I mean, after all, Tara only crushed his head. When she ran off, I still saw his body in the bed. Did he recover? Will he be coming back? I kind of hope so. Just because it’ll be some awesome tension.
And what’s up with Alcide leaving Sookie when he KNEW that stupid ex-girlfriend nutjob of his was going to come looking for Sookie. DUH ALCIDE! DUH! Now you’re all far away, and the King came to get stupid Sookie. And speaking of Sookie, her cousin coming along to warn her from Eric. What the hell does that mean? Don’t trust Bill? Is that somehow tied to the “darkness” ascending in her coma-dream from two episodes back? Is there something about Bill specifically, or is it all vampires? Eric’s warning made me think it was just Bill, but what about him?
There were a lot of excellent bits about this last episode. Let’s start with Jessica.
Bill turning his back on Jessica was so typical of him. He’s such a selfish jerk. You can’t make baby vampires and just set them loose on the world, Bill. Seriously. So I was glad to see Jessica reach out to him and bond with him, and even happier to see Bill actually teaching her about her life, her powers and how to protect herself. I still keep hoping she and Hoyt get back together. If Bill and Sookie can reunite despite the odds and the fact that Sookie deserves a better life, why can’t Jessica and Hoyt? Maybe Jessica is a better, less selfish person than Bill. That’s probably the case.
Lafayette’s mama showing up to protect him was an interesting twist. Not only did it bring Lafayette and Jesus back together to resolve their issues, but crazy mama had some fascinating bits to say about Lafayette’s specialness. Why is he special, and will we find out this season? Either way, I was happy to see him level with Jesus. The honesty between them put both of their cards on the table and now they’ll go from there. I think Jesus is something special himself. What? I have no idea. Maybe he’s a god figure of some sort, but a good one, unlike Marianne.
Now, the best part about this week’s episode was definitely Eric putting a stake through Talbot in the first stage of his vengeance against the Vampire King. I knew it was coming. He set it up very nicely, telling the King he could trust him implicitly one moment, then killing his love in the next breath. It was a bitter justice too, with the King and Talbot having so many fights about the King’s neglect, then leaving Talbot with Eric to go off alone once again to pursue his own wants.
It’s a subtle, but very serious message about the way we take advantage of personal relationships. How often we take our loved ones for granted, thinking they will always be there when we’re done doing our own thing. It was very backhanded, and just like the lesson Eric suffered when he blew off his father’s wants to see to his own selfish needs only to turn around within minutes and find his whole family slaughtered by the King himself.
Is it freakin’ Sunday yet? I can’t believe this season is winding down so quickly and that I’m going to have to wait a hella long set of months before it’s out on DVD and I can watch it again and again before season four starts. GAH! I need True Blood therapy.
And now, a clip from episode 33, for those who cannot wait until Sunday. OMG! I think someone killed Pam. *cries*

Of course.
But I highly recommend True Blood. It’s not made from cheese, but it’s still a beautiful thing.
I CANT READ THIS CAUSE I AM BEHIND! NO SPOILING!

Tonight’s episode was awesome. This show is so campy, and I love it.

It’s called ‘True BLOOD’, people! It’s a show about VAMPIRES, remember? You can’t have one WITHOUT the other! If you don’t want to see blood, there’s always the ‘Twilight’ series. It’s almost totally devoid of it (along with talent, a decent poltline, direction, etc…). Go watch that and let real vampire fans alone with this!
Who the hell are you talking to?
