Mid-Week True Blood Ramblings

As I sat down to rewatch the last three episodes of True Blood with Squeenager (who missed them because we were out of town and her dad doesn’t have television,) I felt a giddy sense of pre-mourning upon realizing there were only three episodes left in this season. I almost cried, but then realized if I started to cry about True Blood, James would probably have me committed. As much as I would love a break from life and all its mundane responsibilities, I’m relatively sure they would not let me watch True Blood in the nuthouse. Bastards…

With only three episodes left, the action and tension are winding up. So much is going on, my brain is rapidly wrapping around it all, trying to figure out how it’s going to end. If you haven’t been watching, don’t click the link or you’ll get spoiled like that bad-egg recall.

First of all, what the hell is Sookie? And even more than that, I keep asking myself if Bill is lying about his motivations behind tracking information on Sookie and her family history. I have a feeling he is, and could almost confirm it, but I won’t reveal my source or reason just yet. There’s nothing like being wrong. The thing that keeps prodding me in that direction the most, however, is Eric.

How many times in the last month has Eric expressly told Sookie NOT TO TRUST BILL. And now Eric knows what Queen Sophie Ann knows, so how does that tie into Bill? It does, you know it.

On the other hand, how much of Eric’s motivation has to do with what he knows about Sookie himself? In the preview for next week’s episode, there’s a scene where Eric tells Sookie he would never forgive himself if he left this life having not at least kissed her. Does he want more than just a kiss? And no, I’m not talking about him wanting to get naked and busy with her. We already know he wants to do that… I think he wants something more.

And whatever it is, I’m sure it’s tied into her “Light,” which guardian Claudine has referenced at least twice now. She has also put heavy emphasis on Bill being a danger to her…him wanting to steal her light. I bet he does… that sneaky jerk.

Something else I loved about this last episode was Franklin returning to stalk Tara down. I knew he wasn’t dead, otherwise she wouldn’t have been having those connected dreams that tied her to him because of their sharing blood. As much as he was a crazy jerk, I was so bummed that Jason shot him. He could have been a lot of fun in future episodes. Maybe Tara should put him in a jar and carry him around like Russel is doing with Talbot. If I were writing for True Blood, that’s what I’d make happen. ‘Cos Tara is crazy too, and watching her unravel is fun.

Upcoming previews also seem to suggest Jesus and Lafayette are about to get themselves involved in some otherworldly adventure on task with Lafayette’s mama’s fears for him. Perhaps some strange Peruvian god wants to steal Lafayette’s power.

Seeing Eric and Pam this last week was touching. Generally, we see Pam’s hard-edge sarcasm and bitchy tendencies, but watching her lament the burden of Eric’s pain was a beautiful thing. I’m worried to death about her now. Eric told her if he dies, it’s her time to become a maker. Pam, don’t die. I secretly love you.

I’m pretty sure Eric’s not going to die. I would probably stop watching if he did, and HBO knows that. On the other hand, I’m really interested in the exacting of his vengeance against Russel Edgington. Russel was off his bleeding nut before, but he’s reached a whole new dimension of cuckoo now that Talbott’s dead. I LOVED watching him take over the news broadcast and expose the American Vampire League for what they truly are.

Sam’s gone crazy too, and who could blame him. The Merlotte’s warned him about seeking out his family, and now we know why. They are just plain evil.

Speaking of evil with a capital “E.” I know that Holly chick is bad news. I just don’t know why. Arlene needs to run away from her, and fast-like. And Jason and Crystal… there’s just not even time to go into them right now.

If you haven’t seen it yet, Trubies, you need to get to the newsstand and grab a copy of Rolling Stone. I haven’t read Rolling Stone in years, but I will be picking up this issue.

Upcoming preview of the final three episodes… And of course my non-stop desire to know: IS IT SUNDAY YET?

You might start going WTF when you find out what Sookie is. Of course that’s in the books.

Squeenager’s read the books, and she told me what she “thinks” Sookie is based on what she’s read. we’ll see. There are so many things that have veered off from the books, it’s hard to tell what direction they will take Sookie in. Either way, I say WTF every time I watch it, so YAY!

Okay….here are my thoughts, Pam is hot, Bill is shady, Sookie should have the middle name of Got-Booty, wooden bullets rule, it’s a shame Franklin went out so soon, Russell on TV was FREAKING AWESOME, Pam is hot, don’t know what Holly is but she is something because COME ON!!!!!, Jessica is hot, Summer is a short and annoying twit, Pam and Jessica need to kiss….or something, Lafayette looks happy with Jesus (what’s going to fuck it up?), Eric is shady, Pam and Jessica need to visit me, and……did I mention how hot Pam is?

Yet another show that everyone else watches and I don’t. When you write a post about Hannah Montanna let me know, I will have all kinds of things to say about that.

Except, I will not cry when it ends.
