Accepting Farrago Submissions Again

Attention all fiction writers, we are accepting fiction shorts once more for the Michael Bekemeyer Project: Farrago. This is another endeavor into charity, which means if your story is accepted to the anthology, there will be no payment except the warm, fuzzy feeling of knowing that through your creative efforts you’re aiding Michael in his goal to raise money for his independent film project.

You also get to tell the world you were published in a big, fancy anthology with some other fantastic writers, like Jake Bible, Starla Hutchton, Morgan Elektra and David Sobkowiak just to name a few.

We would really like to sell the anthology for about $10, which means that despite there being a boatload of contributors already totaling about 65,000 words overall, we need to step up the game and pack it with even more great fiction.

So, if you would like to help out a great cause, I will be accepting submissions for Farrago once again starting August 20, 2010 and ending September 21, 2010. That’s a month.

What are we looking for? Well, the word farrago is synonymous with mish-mash, so there are no genre limitations. At this point, the majority of the stories are very dark, so either you can help make the anthology darker, or you can help mish-mash it up a bit.

We ask that all stories be between 2,000-6,000 words, free from grammatical and spelling errors and sent to me as an attached word doc file at jennybeanses@gmail.com with the words FARRAGO SUBMISSION in the email subject header. We are hovering around the “R” rating, so if your story is a little twisted, all thee better.

There were a lot of people who wanted to contribute, but the original deadline was impossible for them to meet. Here’s hoping this month will inspire some of those awesome writers to offer something for a great friend and his amazing vision.

For more information about Farrago, please read the original post right here. Feel free to ask any questions you might have. I look forward to fielding them and getting your submissions.
