Help Me Cover Jack in the Green

With the release date for Jack in the Green just around the corner, I face the task of not only creating a story I hope will sweep you away to another world, but I must also format the manuscript and add a cover to the book that I feel not only suits the story, but draws you in and prepares you for what lies beneath that cover.
In the past I have always put together my own cover art before releasing my books in electronic format. I was very fortunate when piecing together the cover for The Goblin Market, but as I started searching for the right imagery for Jack in the Green I found the selections very limited. I wanted something mystical, something that spoke of the magic awaiting inside the book itself.
That was when I stumbled across fantasy artist Desiree Isphording. I found her on Elfwood, and after scrolling through her breathtaking collection of artwork, I found the cover for Jack in the Green. The piece, which is titled “All Underneath the Eildon Tree” captured exactly what I wanted my cover art to portray. Transformation, mystery, magic. I sought Desiree out on Facebook and after a few weeks we came to an agreement. Desiree will also be working on the cover for The Goblin Prince, and while that’s still a way off, I cannot wait to see what she comes up with.
They say you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but we all know a strong cover that speaks wordlessly of the story within is a powerful way to connect with potential readers.
I’m launching this Kickstarter campaign because I need to raise enough funding to not only pay Desiree for the use of her artwork, but to offer those who choose to back me a few keepsakes as well. A successful campaign here will allow me to create stickers, post cards, posters, a handful of rare trade paperback editions and especially rare hardcover copies of Jack in the Green and The Goblin Market.
If you’re interested in offering your support, please head on over to the Kickstarter Campaign page for Covering Jack in the Green. Thank you for taking the time to check out my project, and as always for your continued support and belief in me.
