I love writing about True Blood, and since James and I have been doing everything we can to build a network of awesome sites, we kicked off an entertainment site called PopArmy.com. I moved the mid-week true blood rambling posts to PopArmy.com, so if you’ve been enjoying reading them each week, please visit the latest rambling!

Be sure to subscribe to the feed for PopArmy and tell all your friends where to find us.

And now… Mid-Week True Blood Ramblings!

If you haven’t watched the latest episode of True Blood yet, I would advise you to stop right now because I’m gonna talk about it. And there’s nothing you can do about it.

I swear, I’ve gotten to the point right now where as soon as I finish watching an episode, I’m itching under the skin for the next one. James pointed out tonight there were only six more episodes left of this season, and I almost started to cry. What the hell am I going to do on Sunday nights for the rest of the year?

Despite his older brother’s nasty remarks about Cleve’s disability, Cleve discovers he has a unique talent. He can take things apart and put them back together again. When he’s done, they work better than before. It drives his family crazy that he’s always disassembling things around the house, but it makes Cleve feel smart and important, something he’s never felt before in his life. When Cleve realizes there’s something wrong…something broken inside his older brother, he realizes it is his duty to try and fix it.

The tenth story in the Dark Journeys Short Story Collection is NOW available for download on Amazon and Smashwords for just $.99. This is one of the darkest stories I’ve written in awhile, and may not be suitable for sensitive readers. On that note, I hope you’ll check it out and help me spread the word!

Below is a short excerpt from The Handy Man, so check it out after the jump!

I started out on the right foot this week. After editing and reformatting the intro and chapter one of Goblin Market, I felt like I could take over the world. So Tuesday, I got cocky. I only had to write one work article Tuesday, and James said Monday night, “You could spend the whole day working on fiction if you want to.” That made me beam with glee, so I did it.

After tooling around on the ‘Net all morning and writing up a blog post, I cracked my knuckles and got to work on edits. By one o’clock that afternoon, chapter two was fully edited with an added 400ish words. I was very happy with it, and just as I was getting ready to save. Some doofus pulled the plug out of my computer… that doofus: me. Fortunately, the autosave backed me up, and I didn’t lose anything.

I was recently given the opportunity to sneak preview Ro Van Saint and A.R. Braun’s upcoming collaborative short fiction project, Tales from the Abyss. Tales from the Abyss is scheduled to release on June 1st, and you can sign up for a free copy from their hooligans mailing list.

After receiving my e-copy last night, I settled into bed with my laptop and started reading. The collection contains four stories, two from each writer, with the first two being A.R. Braun’s. Braun has an interesting writing style, with some pretty intense descriptions. I enjoyed the second of his stories, “The Woman in Black,” a little more than the first, but both stories were good, short reads with a dark twist.

Ro Van Saint’s stories were both gripping, suspending me as a reader in an unreal place inhabited by bizarre, otherworldly conquerors. The people in the worlds she’s created are dark, strange, and interesting, making me want to read more from her in the future.

Overall, I give the collection 4 out of 5 stars, and definitely recommend you run over and sign up for the mailing list so you can get your own free copy.

Thanks to Ro and A.R. for letting me preview the collection. I’m looking forward to more from you two in the future.
