Jack in the Green
…and so it was written in the ancient tomes by She Who First Walked in the Garden: a divided kingdom will reunite under the child born of two worlds.–the Dryad Prophecies
Jack in the Green picks up just months after the events of The Goblin Market, with Meredith Drexler crowned Queen of Goblin and in childbed. Rumors circulate the Goblin Kingdom about the child’s father, many believing her babe was conceived before her nuptials to the king. Distraught and outraged, Kothar would kill the babe before it took its first breath, but Meredith has other plans for her son.
Spirited Upland by Sir Gwydion Dale, Jack is raised by his Aunt Christina and Uncle Wilhelm, though it’s obvious to everyone around him there’s something not quite right about the boy. Jack’s a daydreamer, easily drawn into the green wood by the rustling call of the leaves in the wind. His uncle is sure his lazy nephew will never amount to anything, but his aunt knows Jack is destined for great things and his time with them is running out.
When fifteen-year-old Jack finds himself lured into the woods by a precocious water sprite who claims to know the truth about the parents who abandoned him as a baby, he has no choice but to follow. More than truth awaits Jack beyond the forest he knows. His body is undergoing strange changes, ancient prophecies burden him with responsibilities he never dreamed and untold enemies would do anything to see him dead.
